Our activities take place on Sesia river, with bases in Balmuccia (Vercelli). You can easily reach our place - on the slopes of Mount Rosa – from Milan, Turin and North West areas also for 1 day trip.
We also organize 2/3 days trips dedicated to nature, sport and art.
The river Sesia, main protagonist of this walking out, is perhaps the only alpine river which can flow freely in its bed maintaining its beauty among the green mountains without any restraints of dams or overbuilding.
Its valley, which is still intact and not contaminated from too much touristic tours, offers a lot of possibilities for historical, artistic and environmental studies. The head of the Valley still shows the characteristic Walser buildings (Walsers were an old population of German origin). One of these buildings is now the Alagna Walsers Museum and has been restored in respect with its origin.
Besides the pleasure of walking together, the nature of this Valley offers a lot of stimulus, for example the Marmitte dei giganti an other formations of the glacial period that can be seen during an easy, short trekking to Rifugio Pastore at the foot of Mount Rosa.
The nearest town, 10 km back, is Varallo Sesia, with its narrow streets of the historical centre, its churches and monuments rich of pictorial vestiges: one of the most fascinating is the Sacro Monte.
You can take advantage of our proposals in week days since the second half of April.
