Canyoning in Sesia Gorges
Upstream from the classic stretch of the Sesia are the Gorges, an area where the river flows between extremely narrow rock walls. In the height of summer, it transforms into a canyoning paradise! Here, you'll find jumps, slides, and waterfalls carved into the rock by the millennia-old work of water. It's a route suitable for everyone, doesn't require the use of ropes, and is incredibly fun, as you spend most of your time in the water, drifting with the river current and swimming in the heart of the Sesia! Frequent questions - Canyoning in Sesia Gorges
Yes, activities take place even in rain. Rain doesn't prevent you from enjoying the experience in the water and can make the activity even more fun and unique. The activity will be suspended or modified only if weather or river conditions make it unsafe. The Monrosarafting center will communicate any changes to dates, times, or refunds.
No, no previous experience is necessary. The activities are designed for beginners, and before departure, the guides will provide all the necessary information for safe participation.
Due to their flexible soles, water shoes are not the best choice for river trips. For this reason, we believe closed-toe shoes are very important for participating in activities. They should be comfortable and suitable for getting wet, such as sneakers. If you don't have closed-toe sneakers to use, we have some used shoes available for customers that can be requested before the activity.
It's not recommended to bring personal electronic devices on the raft. We offer professional photography with waterproof action cameras. Photos will be available for purchase at the end of the activity.
The appointment is at our center at the booked time. It's not necessary to arrive early, but we ask that you arrive on time. If you'd like to arrive early, you're always welcome. We're located in a beautiful, large green space near the Sesia River, with a café waiting to help you while you wait.
Don't worry: we're available to accommodate our clients' needs and, when possible, we can consider date changes or reservation modifications to allow you to participate at a later time. No, the Sesia Gorge route does not involve abseiling or rappelling. The activity takes place directly in the water through swimming, crossing the stream, natural slides, dives, and jumps (NOT MANDATORY).
The Sesia Gorges offer a fun but not particularly challenging activity. If you're looking for a more technical and comprehensive experience, we recommend the Sorba River route. But if you're looking for a more aquatic activity, canyoning in the gorges is for you!
